The traditional Student-Staff Football match took place on Saturday, 6 April 2019 at the Nanyang Technological University’s Sports and Recreation Centre. Both teams had many individuals eager to take part in the game, and even had players to spare, making it possible for the players to take turns running in the sweltering heat. And without caps, of course, as true fighters would.

After warming up on the field, the teams got together for a pre-game group photo. The game began with quick action when the student team scored the first goal of the game. The audience was treated to some exciting moments by the players who did not allow the hot weather to slow them down on the field. The first half ended with the student team taking a two-nil lead. During the break, both teams huddled to strategise. The second half of the game saw the staff team also score two goals, thereby ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

After the game, the Student Board served pizza to the exhausted players and the audience members who had stood in the sun, cheering on the teams. Pizza was a huge hit, as previous student events have shown, and the evening continued with refreshing soft drinks and some basketball.
