State-religion Partnership Benefits All
Mohammad Alami Musa, head of the Studies in Inter-Religious Relations in Plural Societies Programme at the RSIS, and president of Muis, wrote in his commentary there is nothing wrong about the state institutionalising religion if both parties, state and religion, are in partnership for a win-win relationship to achieve the shared objective of attaining the well-being of society. The State’s formation of Muis has enabled the Muslim community to define for itself how it should lead its religious life in the secular state, and in a highly religiously plural and socially diverse society.
