- Why Soft Skills Matter More Than Hard Ones – Opinion
Zaid Hamzah, an Adjunct Senior Fellow at RSIS, and a data and AI practitioner, penned this opinion piece on how not every fresh grad should pursue in-demand roles such as being data scientists, adding that what matters more is the ability to leverage the power that technology offers. “We believe that what will stand graduates in good stead in the face of another major global economic crisis or more tectonic shifts in the future of work are actually soft skills – we call these soft skills for the hard technology skills,” Mr Zaid added.
…Zaid Hamzah is an Adjunct senior fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, and a data and AI practitioner. Suhaimi Salleh is chief executive of SSA Academy, a training organisation with a core competency in soft skills for workforce transformation.
