In a commentary, Dr Joseph Liow, dean and professor of comparative and international politics at NTU’s RSIS, said we should expect more upheavals this year as the White House continues to lurch from one crisis to the next. He also said instead of comparing United States President Donald Trump with previous Republican presidents, it is perhaps best to assess Mr Trump against himself: what he claims to stand for, how he conducts affairs of state, and where he has or has not fulfilled his campaign promises.
