Seoul Eager To Rebuild Ties But Challenges Remain
The Straits Times
South Korean President Moon Jae-in was effusive in his congratulatory message to his new counterpart in the US. There is a “strong prospect that Pyongyang will return to sabre-rattling again” to gain US attention, said Dr. Graham Ong-Webb, Adjunct Fellow at RSIS. “What continues to hang over us is the worst-case scenario of another nuclear test by Pyongyang, the consequence of which is the prospect of a US military strike against North Korean nuclear facilities that can only conflagrate into regional conflict,” he told The Straits Times.
