In an interview, Senior Analyst Zi Yang from NTU’s RSIS China Programme commented on how the monopoly of information over the deadly Wuhan virus impacts China’s credibility, its political and economic repercussions, as well as how ASEAN can react to safeguard its population. He elaborated on three things ASEAN can do. First, clearly communicate to the Chinese government the need to regularly share outbreak information. Second, seek cooperation with Chinese health. Finally, work closely with international organisations on the issue and draw upon their expertise.
