- MHA strengthens anti-terrorism security measures
Recent terrorist attacks on Muslim-majority countries have led the Ministry of Home Affairs to strengthen its security measures. Assoc Prof Kumar Ramakrishna, Head of Policy Studies in the Office of the Executive Deputy Chairman, RSIS, said although ISIS consecutively lost cities in their main stronghold Iraq and Syria, they chose to launch several attacks in other countries to show their ability to organise attacks all over the world. Prof Rohan Gunaratna from RSIS said one of the nights in the second half of Ramadan is the most sacred and praying on this night surpasses 1000 months of cultivation. It is believed that radicals chose to launch the attacks recently to time it with the particular night.
