Man Who Joined ISIS in Syria Tells His Story in New Book

On the same day Indonesia announced this month that it would leave nearly 700 suspected former Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters and their families in detention camps in Syria, Mr Febri Ramdani launched a book that details his experiences of following his family to a new life with ISIS militants. Dr Noor Huda Ismail, a specialist in jihadist studies at the RSIS in Singapore, worked with the Indonesian government to help extract Mr Febri’s family from the Syrian-Iraqi border in August 2017.
