- Malaysia Election: A Black Swan, a Dark Horse, And an Elephant in the Room
With the dissolution of Parliament yesterday, the Election Commission will now meet to decide on nomination and polling day. From financial scandals and rising costs of living to hastily passed legislation on fake news and electoral boundary delineation and the 11th-hour suspension of an opposition party, there really has been no shortage of drama in Malaysian politics as the country gears up for GE14.
Indeed, elections have apparently become such seismic events in Malaysia in recent years, people have taken to describing them with oceanographic metaphors.
