- India’s Defence Indigenisation Stumbles With a Lack of Clear Strategy
In a commentary, Balachander Palanisamy, independent researcher and a recent post-graduate from the RSIS discussed India’s domestic defence sector. There is limited tangible progress made in the domestic defence sector when Prime Minister Narendra Modi first floated the ‘Make in India’ initiative in September 2014 he said. This, despite India’s strategic circles constantly emphasising that the military should reduce its dependence on imports and embrace locally produced armaments.
