V. Arianti, an assoc research fellow at NTU’s RSIS and Muh Taufiqurrohman, a senior researcher at the Centre for Radicalism and Deradicalization Studies, (PAKAR), an NGO based in Jakarta, discussed about the spread of extremist charities in Indonesia, especially informal charities which emerged in recent years — partly due to increased demand as there were more arrests in 2015–2019 than in 2002–2013.
