Sri Lanka’s bombings certainly bear hallmarks of a dreaded IS attack due to its barbarity and ruthlessness. RSIS Prof Rohan Gunaratna, an international terrorism expert, opined that the savage attacks on Sri Lanka’s soil appear to be the handiwork of IS in collaboration with its “Sri Lankan branch”.
