A New Way to Hire Staff, No University Degree Required
RSIS senior fellow Han Fook Kwang highlighted the risk of the whole nation being afflicted with national groupthink because we go through the same education system and the same centrally managed, tightly organised system that is Singapore Inc. He cited the example of Dymon Asia co-founder Danny Yong who has started an initiative called Tangent to change the way people are hired. Danny made his first unconventional hire last year after reading about Isaac Mung, an engineering student at NTU who was struggling to make ends meet after his father died of cancer and his mother was diagnosed with dementia.
