- How AI Can Strengthen Food Resilience
In a commentary, Mr Zaid Hamzah and Professor Paul Teng, both of whom are Adjunct Senior Fellows at RSIS discussed how food resilience can be optimised through data and AI. After emerging tops two years in a row in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Global Food Security Index, Singapore’s ranking dropped to No. 19 in the most recent index, for last year. The index assesses if people have access to affordable, quality food to meet their nutritional needs. Apart from losing the bragging rights of being ranked No. 1 on the index, we do not think this drop in ranking will have any impact on Singapore’s food security strategy, the authors said.
…Mr Zaid Hamzah and Professor Paul Teng are Adjunct Senior Fellows at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University. The former is also founder of the Food Security Exchange which focuses on optimising food resilience through data and AI.
