President Moon Jae-in should capitalise on opportunities created by a trade war between the US and China during his state visit to India and Singapore, analysts said Sunday. Under the principle of “Omni-directional Enmeshment”, ASEAN nations try to invite as many great and middle powers as possible to involve themselves in the region so that ASEAN does not become too reliant on any particular country. “In this regard, ASEAN will welcome South Korea’s willingness to become a closer friend,” said Nah Liang Tuang, a research fellow at the IDSS in Singapore.
