In his first day in office, President Joe Biden reversed major decisions by his predecessor for the US to quit the Paris Climate Agreement and World Health Organisation. But on the issue of China and Taiwan, it is less clear what Mr Biden would do by way of major initiatives. Assistant Professor Hoo Tiang Boon of the RSIS said some Trump-era policies could even serve as useful “bargaining chips” against China.
