In a joint commentary, Ben Ho Wan Beng, an associate with RSIS’ military studies programme, said that China’s People’s Liberation Army and the United States’ navy can learn much from the 1941 battle at Wake Island, especially when it comes to defending or countering island outposts in the Pacific.
