On Saturday, Tsai Ing-wen was elected as Taiwan’s first female president. On this, Dr Wu Shang-Su, research fellow from NTU RSIS, was invited to the show to give his opinion on the upcoming challenges that the party and the country will face. Dr Wu pointed out that the party will face many challenges and one of which would be to solve the economic issues such as ensuring sufficient employment and property. On cross-straits relations, he said that Tsai Ing-wen currently do not have sufficient resources and reason to make dramatic changes and would keep to status quo.
