THREE Singapore ministries are conducting a joint public consultation exercise to gather the public’s opinions and views on the Asean Community blueprints for the 2016-2025 period.
The 11-day exercise, which starts today and ends on July 16, involves the Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry, and Social and Family Development ministries.
The Asean Community will be established by Dec 31. It is based on the three pillars of the Asean Political-Security Community, Asean Economic Community, and the Asean Socio-Cultural Community.
… In a statement issued on Sunday evening, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that its ambassador-at-large and former Asean secretary-general, Ong Keng Yong, would be Singapore’s representative to the taskforce.
