Indonesian President Jokowi’s Second Term: Free as a Bird or a Lame-duck President?
Indonesian President Joko Widodo plans to use the next five years to implement bold economic reforms aimed at putting the world’s fourth-most populous nation on track to becoming its fourth-largest economy by 2045. “For every argument that Jokowi is going to be different this time around, that he’s going to have more independence, there’s also an argument that he’s going to be a lame-duck president,” said researcher Alexander Raymond Arifianto of RSIS.
