Indonesia Opens Military Base on Edge of South China Sea to “Deter Security Threats”
Indonesia has set up a new military base on the Natuna Islands, which is at the fringe of the South China Sea. Collin Koh, an academic from NTU Singapore’s RSIS, analysed that Indonesia had planned for the military base for many years and their clash with China in 2016 gave more impetus to the plan.
