India Elections Looms
In a live interview, Dr Sinderpal Singh, Senior Fellow from NTU’s RSIS, said the previous wave behind Indian Prime Minister Modi’s successful elections was spurred by people’s expectation of economic development and some fatigue about corruption which plagued the earlier government. The de-monitisation by the Modi government was a huge gamble and it did not pay off, and the second problem is that India’s GDP has been going up, but it hasn’t led to job growth.
