China has acknowledged its fishing vessel hit a Filipino boat in the disputed South China Sea in an incident that prompted an outcry in the Philippines but denies the collision was intentional. “Beijing will have to cope with the chorus of outcry from the Philippine public,” said Collin Koh, a maritime security research fellow at the RSIS in Singapore. “The pressure from this incident looks set to heap upon the Duterte administration to seek accountability from Beijing.”
