- Candidates Must Prove Ability to Contribute to Singapore
With less than a week to polling, the candidates are still bringing up the issues that had been raised in the 2011 General Election in drawing support from voters.
However, the scenario is different this time with the presence of a new generation of voters who will not easily swallow the rhetoric from the candidates during campaigning.
It’s not easy now for a candidate or political party to explain things by repeating the same old arguments and playing up stale issues.
… Deputy executive chairman of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Ong Keng Yong said the issues were the same raised in the last general election.
“However, how would the candidates interact and explain the issues to the voters this time? These are very important issues to the voters,” he said.
