In a commentary, Bhubhindar Singh, an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Regional Security Architecture Programme at RSIS, wrote that the 12th ADMM and 5th ADMM-Plus meetings are taking place at a critical juncture – the geopolitical landscape is evolving amid the intensifying strategic competition between the US and China. The upcoming discussions should reflect Asean’s ability to address this uncertainty and cement the grouping’s central role in the regional security architecture.
