A Korean Peninsula with No Demilitarised Zone?
Shawn Ho, an associate research fellow at the RSIS, NTU, wrote in his commentary that today marks the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice Agreement which led to a ceasefire but not an official end to the war. Perhaps that end is finally in the offing. As suggested previously in Korea, a peace zone could be established in the DMZ. This could be called the “Korean Peace Park” given the untouched nature that has flourished in the DMZ over the past few decades. He looks forward to the day people can travel back and forth between Seoul and Pyongyang by train, passing through the Korean Peace Park.
