Raffaello Pantucci, Senior Fellow at the RSIS who has a forthcoming book looking at China’s relations with Central Asia, discussed the benefits and threats that face China as the US quits Afghanistan. In the short term, China has comfortably hedged itself against all direct threats from Afghanistan, but questions remain as to how strong that insulation is, he said.
