A number of contentious issues are changing the Pakistani-Saudi Arabian relationship, but a complete rupture of the Saudi-Pakistan ties in the foreseeable future is unlikely, wrote RSIS Research Fellow Abdul Basit in a commentary. Pakistan’s relations with Saudi Arabia and the UAE will instead transform from strategic to tactical and transactional relations, he added.
