The group of Myanmar nationals who used Singapore as a base to mobilise support for armed violence against their government have been deported. Mr Iftekharul Bashar of RSIS told The Straits Times that Rakhine nationalism is getting stronger as the community in general feels that Rakhines are not benefiting from foreign investments in their homeland. Prof Rohan Gunaratna of the RSIS noted that the AA has committed atrocities and violated human rights in Rakhine state.
