Abdul Basit, a research fellow at RSIS, wrote an article on how the Pakistan government’s decision to suspend congregational prayers at worship places is a welcome development. He added that without this decision, the government’s lockdown measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus would not have been effective. So far, 40 people have lost their lives to coronavirus in Pakistan.
