In a commentary, Dr Tan See Seng, professor of international relations and deputy director and head of research of the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies at RSIS, said that the battle for Marawi could well change the way Asean countries understand and conduct counter-terrorism. He highlighted three challenges for Asean in military’s growing role in fighting terror.
