The single most important ingredient to fight insurgency, terrorism and ideological extremism is political will. A country that lacks visionary, bold and committed political leadership, backed by a strong Armed Forces and intelligence leaders, will not be able to comprehensively defeat terrorism. The Sri Lankan government, to consolidate the physical defeat ofthe LTTE must now build a norm and ethic against racism. With guidance from the Executive President, the Education Ministry should take the lead role, Head of the International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in Singapore, Prof. Rohan Gunaratna told the Daily News during a recent interview.
