- Singapore Needs Multi-pronged Approach Towards Terrorism: Expert
Singapore must adopt a multi-pronged approach in dealing with terrorism, said Security Studies Professor Rohan Gunaratna from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. He also warned that the terrorist threat landscape in Singapore is changing.
“Singapore has done a lot in the fight against terrorism. But there is a new threat landscape that is now affecting Singapore, which is ISIS-centric and has supplanted the Al-Qaeda and JI-centric landscape that Singapore witnessed in the past 15 years,” said Prof Gunaratna.
Speaking at the MDIS Breakfast Talk Series on Friday (Jul 10), Prof Gunaratna shared three principles that Singapore must adopt to address the threats of ISIS.
