Spread of Stolen HIV Data Can be Curbed by Following Digital Trail: Experts
Very little can be done to retrieve the stolen data on the 14,200 people with HIV if it has been leaked on the Internet because of how easily files are shared online, said experts. But monitoring data online and following its trail can curb its spread and the damage it does, they added. Assoc Prof Alan Chong of RSIS echoed this point, saying that this could be done by tracking any suspicious Internet Protocol addresses found to have accessed the data or even published it.
