Multilateral Mechanisms to Become Useless if US, China Start Cold War – Scholars
International multilateral mechanisms such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation could face the danger of losing their reason to exist if the United States and China are determined to move toward a new cold war against each other, experts said. Karen Pitakdumrongkit, deputy head and assistant professor at RSIS said the lack of leadership, especially after US President Donald Trump took office, explains why we don’t see any multilateral deals being struck today.
