In an analysis piece by Asst Prof Dr Kaewkamol Pitakdumrongkit, who is Deputy Head of the Centre for Multilateralism Studies at NTU’s RSIS, said that governments worldwide are leaning on fiscal stimulus to weather the COVID-19 crisis. However, she said that such policy measures will largely be determined by politics as different sectors compete for limited resources. “Now is a crucial time to observe how the governments would respond via fiscal policies which could consequently shape the future development of international trade and investment ties,” she said.
