Abstract
We are currently living in the Anthropocene – the age of humans – where human activity is having a significant impact on the planet’s climate and ecosystems. In response to this, scientists have coined the term ‘Anthropocene risk’ to reflect the complex interrelation of planetary changes and various imbalances that are currently afflicting our planet.
As part of the SSHR Seed Grant “The Future of Planetary Health: Lessons from a Global Pandemic”, researchers from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Business School, and College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, in collaboration with Earth Observatory of Singapore, will investigate how Planetary Health offers a more comprehensive approach to mitigate the human impacts on the world in which we live to ensure a resilient and prosperous future. This symposium brings together scholars to share their perspectives.
