About the Speaker
Arif Havas Oegroseno is the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Federal Republic of Germany. Prior to this, he held the office of the Deputy Minister for Maritime Sovereignty, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, from 2015 to 2018 following the completion of his tenure as Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Belgium, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the European Union from 10 August 2010 until January 2015. His career as a diplomat and public official spanned over 30 years where he has led negotiations for numerous bilateral and regional landmark agreements, including Indonesian maritime boundaries, mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition negotiations and international security framework. Arif Havas Oegroseno also actively participates as a speaker and panellist in international conferences. He has given lectures at various distinguished academic institutions, has contributed book chapters and regularly provides commentaries on several global media publications. An alumnus of Harvard Law School and Faculty of Law at the University of Diponegoro, Arif Havas Oegroseno is married to Sartika Oegroseno and has two children.
