Abstract
The HADR Programme will host a conference to understand perspectives from Asia on the dynamics, limits and possibilities of humanitarian action. This is particularly salient as countries in the region contribute relatively more financially to global governance. Speakers and participants will assess the current status of multilateral humanitarian settings, review bilateral humanitarian cooperation in Asia, and investigate the role of militaries, the private sector and civil society in providing humanitarian assistance. This conference brings together scholars and practitioners focused on humanitarian action in Asia.
