Islam in the Contemporary World is the first event in Singapore to bring together leading scholars in the field of Islam to address the current challenges facing Muslim societies worldwide. The distinguished speakers come from diverse academic fields including politics, sociology, philosophy, anthropology and Islamic jurisprudence.
Comprising three panels, The Evolution of Islamic Intellectual Tradition, Religion, Politics and Violence in the Muslim World, and The Future of Islam in the Modern World, this one-day conference will offer cutting-edge academic approaches on how Islamic thought can evolve and enhance its relevance for international relations in the contemporary world.
