Abstract
This workshop will examine three core domains (communication, governance and security) in which social media continues to generate significant impact. Using a plethora of case studies and operational experiences, speakers from diverse disciplinary and professional backgrounds will offer practical insights to address the challenges currently facing policymakers, practitioners and researchers working in these domains. It is envisaged that those attending will also benefit from the exchange of ideas as well as the networking opportunities. Topics slated for discussion include shaping opinions, analytics, online sex scams and social bots.
