    About Us

The International Centre for Political Violence and Terrorism Research (ICPVTR) is a specialist centre within the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

ICPVTR conducts research, training, and outreach programmes aimed at better understanding the challenges and complexities related to politically motivated violence and terrorism, with a view to facilitating better Preventing and Countering of Violent Extremism (PCVE) outcomes and strategies by policy-makers, researchers and community stakeholders.  The Centre integrates academic theory with practical knowledge gleaned from our thematic research workstreams, which is essential for a complete and comprehensive understanding of threats from a range of terrorist and extremist groups.

The Centre is culturally and linguistically diverse, comprising functional and regional analysts as well as Muslim religious scholars from Southeast Asia, South Asia and others.
