Biography

Thomas Lim is an Associate Research Fellow with the Military Studies Programme (MSP) of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University. He holds a Master’s Degree (MSc) in International Relations from RSIS, and his research interests include international security issues, military technology, armoured vehicle operations, and maritime security. Prior to joining RSIS, Thomas was the chief trainer of ST Engineering’s Armoured Vehicle Driving Training Project, where he delivered lectures and conducted driving & maintenance competency courses for members of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

He conducts professional military education courses and lectures for commanders from the SAF across all levels, covering topics across strategic studies, military history and international relations. He is a frequent contributor to local and international media outlets for comments on military and defence developments, and his thoughts have been featured on outlets such as Lianhe Zaobao and the Indo-Pacific Defense Forum, amongst others.
