Thomas Lim is an Associate Research Fellow with the Military Studies Programme (MSP) of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University. He holds a Master’s Degree (MSc) in International Relations from RSIS, and his research interests include regional security issues, military technology, maritime security, and armoured vehicle operations. Prior to joining RSIS, Thomas was the chief trainer of ST Engineering’s Armoured Vehicle Driving Training Project, where he delivered lectures and conducted driving & maintenance competency courses for members of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
He conducts professional military education courses for commanders from the SAF across all levels, covering topics across strategic studies, military history and international relations. He is a frequent contributor to local & international media outlets for comments on military and security developments, and his thoughts have been featured on outlets such as Channel NewsAsia, Lianhe Zaobao, Reuters, and The Straits Times, amongst others.
