Ms. Hu Xinyue is a Senior Analyst in the China Programme at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS), S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS). Her research interests focus on technology competition and critical minerals, China’s overseas investment behaviors, economic diplomacy, and corporate diplomacy. Her work has been published on reputable platforms such as The Diplomat, IDSS Paper, RSIS Commentary, and China-India Brief. Her analyses have been cited by leading media outlets, including AFP, The Straits Times, South China Morning Post, Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) and Weekendavisen. She has also provided expert insights to professionals in the U.S. technology industry.
She obtained both her MSc in International Political Economy and Bachelor of Science from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Throughout her academic journey, she received several prestigious awards, including the NTU Science and Engineering Scholarship, two Book Prizes, the President’s Research Scholarship, the RSIS Lee Foundation Scholarship, and the Provost Graduate Award, presented here in chronological order.
