Fifth NADI Meeting 2012

The 5th NADI Meeting was co-organised by the Department of Asean Affairs, General Department of Policy and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia, and the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP), at the Borei Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The meeting was co-chaired by Major General Lay Chenda, Director of Asean Affairs Department and Dr Chheang Vannarith, Executive Director of the Cambodian Institute for Cooperation and Peace.

Lt Gen Nem Sowath, Director General of the Policy and Foreign Affairs Department, as Guest of Honour , delivered the Opening Remarks. Tan Seng Chye, Senior Fellow, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), made a presentation on the “Changing Global Landscape and Implications for Regional Security Outlook in East Asia”. This was followed by other presentations and exchange of views on regional security outlook. The delegates also exchanged views on the key factors shaping regional security architecture and on how to strengthen regional security institutions. They identified the key security issues, the factors shaping regional security architecture, and ways to strengthen regional security institutions.
