NADI 18th Annual General Meeting on “ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity”


The NADI Annual General Meeting on “ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity” was held from 28 April to 1 May 2025 in Genting Highlands, Malaysia, organised by Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MiDAS), Ministry of Defence, Malaysia. Lieutenant General Dato’ Seri Haji Muhammad Huzaimi bin Sabri, Chief Executive, MiDAS, chaired the Annual General Meeting.

The Annual General Meeting discussed how the ADMM should address the major shifts in the regional geopolitical landscape, so as to maintain ASEAN Centrality and unity. The delegates also considered how ASEAN and the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) could harness emerging technologies to strengthen ASEAN unity. The delegates reaffirmed that emerging technologies are pivotal for ASEAN security landscape as they fortify the regional security environment by addressing both traditional and non-traditional concerns. They also deliberated on how AI could boost the region’s preparedness, resilience, and security.
