- Counter Terrorist Trends and Analysis (CTTA) – Volume 6, Issue 5
The three articles in this issue review the counterterrorism efforts of India and Pakistan, the two states central to the stability of the South Asian region: (1) Abdul Basit examines the impact of the Pakistani government’s peace talks with the Pakistani Taliban, also known as the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and in this, discusses the fundamental and complex challenges in achieving peace in Pakistan; (2) Muhammad Ramzan Shahid assesses the impact of the US-led ‘War on Terror’ on Pakistan, arguing that the war has greatly weakened Pakistan’s economy and security, despite the significant military and economic assistance that the country has received from Washington since 2001; (3) Antara Desai explores how the new Narendra Modi-led government in India would respond to the multifaceted terrorist threat in the country.
