The NADI Workshop on Energy Security

The NADI Workshop on “Energy Security: Towards Enhancing Regional Harmony and Promoting Energy Security in Southeast Asia” was organised by the Indonesian Defence University (IDU), Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia at Santika Hotel, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, from 10 to 12 June 2014. Representatives of all the NADI delegations attended the Workshop. Colonel Danardono Sulistyoadji, Head of Defence Management Study Program of the IDU and Colonel Dr. Arwin D.W. Sumari, Head of Defence Economics Study Program of the IDU, chaired the Workshop.

NADI delegates had a comprehensive exchange of views on the optimisation of the use of fossil energy and the further development of renewable energy potential in the region. The Workshop also explored the potential for enhancing regional energy security and cooperation. In this regard, the Workshop proposed several recommendations for the consideration of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM).
