NADI Workshop on “ASEAN Cooperation in Cyber Capacity Building”

The NADI Workshop on “ASEAN Cooperation in Cyber Capacity Building”, organised by the Strategic Studies Center (SSC), National Defense Studies Institute, Royal Thai Armed Forces, was held in the Classic Kameo Hotel and Serviced Apartments, Ayutthaya, Thailand, from 7 to 11 May 2018. Major General Apisak Sombutcharoennon (Director, SSC) chaired the NADI Workshop.

NADI delegates shared their respective country’s perspectives on the ASEAN cybersecurity situation as well as how ASEAN can conduct cyber cooperation to counter violent extremism, and discussed possible models for ASEAN cooperation in cyber capacity building. The delegates provided recommendations, for the consideration of the ADMM, to enhance ASEAN Member States’ cyber capacities, including the optimisation of existing cyber platforms, development of human resources, collaborative activities, and forums to discuss narratives against violent extremism.
