ST Editor-at-Large and RSIS Senior Fellow Han Fook Kwang wrote in his column that the USA needs to project an image that will help outsiders understand what is happening there. The ambiguity of not knowing who or what is America is a problem for the US when it is trying to win friends abroad and will ultimately affect its soft power. It will have long-term implications for its ability to project power and influence during a period when the geopolitical landscape is changing.
